Tesco is significantly expanding its tradition by providing free carrots for Rudolph this Christmas at over doubled store numbers compared to last year—2,880 stores will participate instead of just under two thousand (2,000 more). This annual event marks six years and now includes Express locations alongside most major UK retailers.

With approximately half the population leaving a carrot for Rudolph on Christmas Eve as part of this year's tradition, Tesco will distribute around 175 tonnes of imperfect carrots across these stores until December 24th to ensure Santa’s reindeer enjoys its treat.

Tesco also conducted research and discovered the modern Father Christmas might prefer a change from traditional mince pies, with doughnuts (34%), cheese boards, or festive meal deals—the latter especially popular among millennials at 40%. The wide variety of Tesco's offerings means Santa has plenty to choose from for his Christmas Eve deliveries.
