How to Obtain Free In-Game Items in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a role-playing game set in medieval Bohemia, offers players several methods to acquire in-game items without incurring additional costs. These methods range from official promotional programmes to in-game exploration and quest completion. This article details the verified processes for obtaining free items, focusing on the official Twitch Drops programme and other legitimate in-game strategies, based on information available from official and community sources.

Official Twitch Drops Programme

Warhorse Studios, the developer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, has implemented a Twitch Drops programme. This promotional initiative allows players to earn free in-game items by watching specific streams on the Twitch platform. To participate, players must link several accounts and meet viewing time requirements.

Eligibility and Account Linking

Participants must possess accounts on Twitch, the game platform (Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2), and the PROS service. The process involves several sequential steps: 1. Create a Twitch account if one does not already exist. 2. Access the 'DLCs and Extras' section within the main menu of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to create a PROS account. 3. Link the PROS account to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. 4. Link the PROS account to the Twitch account. 5. Watch designated Drops-enabled Twitch streams for the required duration.

Reward Claim Process

Once the viewing time is accumulated, the earned items must be claimed through the Twitch platform. Users must visit their Twitch Drops Inventory page to claim the rewards. After claiming, the items will not appear immediately in the game's inventory. Instead, they will be available in the player's personal storage chest or stash. This storage chest is typically located within a room at an inn or the player's house within the game world.

Current and Upcoming Reward Schedule

As of the provided information, a specific Twitch Drops campaign was active until 11:29 pm local time on Tuesday, 11th February 2025. This campaign offered nine items based on cumulative viewing time. The schedule and items are as follows: * 30 minutes of viewing: Warhorse waffenrock * 1 hour of viewing: Brigandine sleeves * 1 hour and 30 minutes of viewing: Warhorse gauntlets * 2 hours of viewing: Brigandine leg * 2 hours and 30 minutes of viewing: Warhorse boots * 3 hours of viewing: Warhorse caparison * 3 hours and 30 minutes of viewing: Warhorse shield * 4 hours of viewing: Warhorse bascinet * 4 hours and 30 minutes of viewing: Warhorse pourpoint

Following the conclusion of this campaign, Warhorse Studios has confirmed two additional Drops periods: * 12th February – 19th February 2025: A "Cutpurse armour set" will be available. This set includes five items, with viewing times ranging from 30 minutes for the Cutpurse's hood to three hours for the Cutpurse's gloves. * 20th February – 27th February 2025: A single item, the "Floral Wreath" for the character Henry to wear, will be available for one hour of viewing.

It is important to note that the availability of these items is tied to specific time-limited campaigns. The information provided does not indicate a permanent or ongoing programme beyond the confirmed dates.

In-Game Exploration and Item Acquisition

Beyond official promotional programmes, players can acquire free items through in-game activities. Community discussions and guides highlight methods such as exploration, lockpicking, and completing specific quests.

Finding Items in the Environment

The game world contains numerous locations where items can be found without purchase. For example, players can obtain the Skalitz Axe by locating a shed behind a house in the town of Troskowitz after the prologue. Similarly, the Von Bergow Shield can be acquired by digging up a grave south of Troskowitz. These items are available to any player who explores the game's locations thoroughly.

Lockpicking and Theft

A common community-recommended strategy for obtaining items and resources is to master lockpicking. By improving the lockpicking skill, players can unlock chests and doors to access goods without payment. One suggestion involves using a perk that boosts lockpicking skill while the player character is drunk, though this increases noise levels. This method allows players to acquire items from shop chests and other locked containers. However, players should be aware that stealing from shops increases the likelihood of guards searching them for stolen goods, which may require bribing or other methods to avoid penalties.

Treasure Hunting

Another legitimate method for obtaining valuable items and starting cash is to locate hidden treasure chests scattered across the game map. Guides and community-maintained maps can assist in finding these locations. Opening these chests often requires advanced lockpicking skills. The items found within can include legendary weapons and gear, providing a significant boost to a new player's resources.

Quest Completion

Completing specific quest lines can also yield free items. For instance, the quest line for the "band of bastards" is mentioned as a source of items. Furthermore, a pre-order bonus quest, "The Lion's Crest," provides access to the Brunswick armour set, which is described as one of the best armour sets available in the early game. This set offers stellar protection against various damage types. However, this quest is exclusively available to players who pre-ordered Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The set is noted for its high protective value but is also acknowledged to be less effective against highly skilled opponents or heavy weapons.

Important Considerations

When pursuing free items in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, several factors should be considered. The Twitch Drops programme requires active participation in external platforms (Twitch) and strict adherence to account linking and viewing schedules. The in-game methods, while free of monetary cost, require a significant investment of time and skill development, particularly in lockpicking. Players must also navigate the game's morality and legal systems; theft can lead to confrontations with guards and affect the player's reputation. The information provided does not specify the exact statistics or durability of the free items compared to those available for purchase or through other means, so players may need to evaluate their utility based on their current gameplay situation.

Conclusion

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 provides several legitimate avenues for players to acquire items without direct expenditure. The official Twitch Drops programme is a structured promotional effort that rewards viewership with specific in-game gear, though it is time-bound. In-game exploration, lockpicking, treasure hunting, and quest completion offer alternative methods to obtain equipment and resources through player effort and skill. Each method comes with its own requirements and potential drawbacks, from external account management to in-game consequences for theft. Players interested in these free items should refer to official Warhorse Studios communications for the most current information on promotional programmes and utilise community guides for in-game locations, while always considering the game's rules and mechanics.

  2. Surviving in medieval Bohemia can be rough, especially when armed bandits and other ruffians can threaten your life in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Raw skill can only get you so far, and if you really want to make you'll need good gear to protect yourself with. Getting decent equipment may seem tricky at the start, but if you know where to look, you can kit yourself out without having to make any money in KCD2. Here are some of the best pieces of equipment you can find as soon as you finish the prologue. Nests are abundant in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, so here's what to do once you find one. Skalitz Axe You don't have to rely on some shabby hunting sword as your first weapon. Once you reach Troskowitz, you can get a decent one-handed axe as soon as you're set free. You can find the in a shed behind a house in the town. Refer to the player marker on the map above for its location. The Skalitz Axe deals a decent balance of both Slashing and Blunt damage, two of the three damage types in KCD2, making it effective against armored and unarmored enemies. Parrying with it is not ideal considering its wooden handle, so you'll want a shield to pair with it. Von Bergow Shield Speaking of shields, you can get one for free by digging up a grave south of Troskowitz
  3. Well, there is tons of ways of getting “free” stuff in this game. My suggestion for a new player is to start stealing everything. Learn how to lockpick the hardest locks. Also to speed this up, get the perk that allows your lockpicking level to be boosted whenever your drunk(at the cost of being more noisy). Once you are able to unlock those very hard locks, you can just steal everything. Of course this is a problem when it comes to guards since they will check you for stolen goods(you could try bribing them everytime or something). This especially happens when you steal from a shop’s chests and will make guards much much more likely to start searching you. The alternative but this will take a long time, is to search for all the hidden treasure chests in the whole map. This can be done by googling a guide to find them…Or just look at the map https://kingdomcomemap.github.io/ which has every location(and more). This will net you some serious starting cash and some legendary weapons/gear. This requires a ton of lockpicking(mostly lockpicking skills but some others) in order to open those chests… so keep that in mind. If your not in the mood for all that, you can also do the quest line for the band of bastards
