It’s free and dead easy to join the Nielsen consumer panel (but you’ll only be able to register using a PC). They’ll post you a hand-held scanner which will read the barcodes on the items you buy. The info you send will earn points to redeem against some fabulous gifts from their catalogue.
Just scan them at home whilst you put the shopping away. The information will automatically be transferred to Nielsen once a week at no charge to you. You get to shop as normal but get some great gifts in the process such as iPods or Camcorders.
